Bratislava General Info

Bratislava, referred to also as Presporok and Pressburg, is one of the youngest, as well as the most dynamically developing cities in the Central Europe. Despite this fact, Bratislava preserves the uniqueness it obtained, in the times of Austrian-Hungarian Monarchy.

Set on the banks of river Danube and being the crossroad of many trade paths, connecting Central, Eastern and Western Europe, it was predestined to become the heart of Europe. The diversity of cultures meeting at one point left traces and mirrors in the local lifestyle, architecture as well as customs.

Bratislava experiences large boom of tourism and investments, during last decade. It has become all-year tourist centre lately. Local life and infrastructure have accustomed to this phenomenon. There emerged lots of new hotels, restaurants, trade and business centres.

Stare mesto (the Old Town), known also as “Korzo”, became the centre of tourism.
